Service terms
How looking after your pets works.
The plain-language terms for Winnipeg Pet Nanny clients.
DRAFT: to be reviewed before launch. This page is a placeholder. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not yet in force.
1. Meeting first
Every new client meets Joyce before the first booking, so she can meet your pets, learn their routine and answer your questions. Joyce may decline a booking if she feels she cannot care for a pet safely.
2. Bookings and hours
Home visits are 30 minutes, between 8 am and 6 pm. Overnights start at 6 pm and run until morning. A booking is confirmed when Joyce confirms it with you by phone, text or email. Joyce answers calls and texts within 2 hours, between 8 am and 8 pm. After each visit, she texts you a photo and a short note.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are the ones on the services page, in Canadian dollars. Overnights on holidays are $5 extra a night, and an extra pet on an overnight is $10 more a night. There is no holiday extra on home visits or walks. TODO: any tax, once an accountant confirms.
You pay by e-transfer only, at the end of your booking. For a booking that includes a holiday, a quarter of the total is paid when you book, and the rest at the end.
Holidays are Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and the other Manitoba statutory holidays: Louis Riel Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day.
4. Cancellations
Cancelling is free if you tell Joyce at least 2 days before your booking starts, or at least 1 week before a booking that includes a holiday. Later than that, half the booking total is charged.
5. Keys, codes and your home
Joyce collects keys, lockbox codes and alarm codes from you in person and keeps them private. She uses them only to care for your pets and your home during a booking, and returns keys when you ask.
6. Your pet's health
Please tell Joyce about any health problems, medications, allergies or behaviour she should know about, including any history of biting. If your pet is ill or hurt while in her care, Joyce will try to reach you, then your emergency contact, and will take your pet to your vet or the nearest emergency clinic if needed. Vet costs are yours to pay. TODO: confirm with the insurer.
7. Weather and the unexpected
In extreme cold or storms, walks may be shortened for your pet's safety. If Joyce is ill or cannot get to a booking, she will tell you as early as she can. In an emergency, a trusted person in Winnipeg can return your key or check on your pet.
8. Your information
The details you send are used only to look after your pets and your home. They are kept privately, never sold or shared, and you can ask Joyce to delete them at any time.
9. Responsibility
TODO: liability wording, to be written with the insurer and a lawyer. Do not publish without it.
