Questions

What people ask before they book.

Do I have to meet Joyce before I book?

Yes. Every new client starts with a meet and greet, so Joyce can meet your pets, learn their routine and answer your questions before any booking.

Which animals does Joyce look after?

Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, horses and small animals.

Is there a size limit for dogs?

Only for walks. Walks are for small and medium dogs; a larger dog, up to about the size of a Doberman, is welcome if it is very well behaved and very well leash-trained. For home visits and overnights, any breed is welcome. If you are not sure about your dog, ask at the meet and greet.

What happens on a home visit?

A home visit is 30 minutes. Joyce feeds your pets, freshens their water, lets them out and spends time with them. Once a day is $26; twice a day is $50.

What are Joyce's hours?

Home visits are any time between 8 am and 6 pm. Overnights start at 6 pm and run until morning.

Will I hear from Joyce while I'm away?

Yes. After every visit, Joyce texts you a photo and a short note.

How quickly will Joyce get back to me?

Joyce answers calls and texts within 2 hours, between 8 am and 8 pm.

Does Joyce stay overnight?

Yes. An overnight stay in your home is $75 a night, from 6 pm until morning. An extra pet is $10 more a night.

Which parts of Winnipeg does she cover?

The whole city. Joyce drives, so she can come to you wherever you live in Winnipeg.

How do I pay?

By e-transfer, at the end of your booking. Joyce takes e-transfer only, not cards. For a booking that includes a holiday, a quarter of the total is paid up front to hold your dates, and the rest at the end.

Do holidays cost more?

Overnights on holidays are $5 extra a night. Home visits and walks cost the same on holidays. Holidays are Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and the other Manitoba statutory holidays: Louis Riel Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancelling is free with 2 days’ notice, or 1 week’s notice for a booking that includes a holiday. Later than that, half the booking total is charged.

What happens if Joyce is sick?

Joyce will tell you as early as she can, so you have time to make other plans. In an emergency, a trusted person in Winnipeg can return your key or check on your pet.

How do I book?

Whichever way suits you. Call or text Joyce at 204-340-0840, email joyce@petnanny.ca, or send the meet-and-greet form. Every new client starts with a meet and greet.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can, and earliest of all for Christmas, New Year and spring break, when sitters get busy.

Start with a meet and greet.

Tell Joyce about your pets and the dates you need. She will get back to you to set a time to meet.
